OUR SERVICES

These were developed along the following lines and are continually examined and upgraded in conjunction with regular Client Review meetings, technical staff training, and any improvements in the industry we decide are really worthwhile, after rigorous testing by ourselves in the field and agreement with clients involved.

1. Site specific Risk Assessments of Domestic Water systems

  • A thorough physical inspection of all site hot and cold storage and mains fed systems. Identification of risks and problems found

  • Recommendations for remedial works to solve these,

  • Reports on hot water storage, including storage and flow and return temperatures.

  • Reports on cold water storage vessels, including photographs of conditions.

  • Details of temperatures at all outlets of both storage and mains fed systems.

  • Schematic drawings for each separate system found.

  • Recommendations for future monitoring of systems identified to minimise risks.

  • Site specific Log Books are provided to record all remedial works and monitoring visits.

Our risk assessments as well as complying with the ACOP L8 also comply with the British Standard BS8580 – Risk assessments for Legionella control and the recently introduced HSE technical guidance HSG274 Part 2 : The control of legionella bacteria in hot and cold water systems and Part 3: The control of legionella bacteria in other risk systems, The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Scotland Byelaws 2014. We are also members of the Legionella Control Association.

2. Management / Monitoring Inspections

  • Annual audits of Monitoring and other remedial works carried out on systems including T.M.V. servicing and water sampling as required and agreed by the client.

  • Six monthly visual inspections, reports and photographs for cold water storage vessels and temperature testing of both stored and incoming mains water.

  • Six monthly water sampling for potable analysis by an independent accredited laboratory where required in residential care homes and other residential accommodation.

  • Monthly temperature testing of hot and cold stored water and sentinel outlets

Our water sampling complies with the British Standard BS7592- Sampling for Legionella bacteria in water systems.

3. Cleaning / disinfection procedures for water storage and systems

  • Photographic evidence of conditions before and after treatment.

  • Certificated confirmation of dates carried out. Water samples reports on completion.

  • Recommendations for future cleaning relevant to each individual system’s requirements, taking account of the results of all six monthly cold water storage inspections carried out.

  • Quarterly or more frequent cleaning disinfection of showerheads and hoses as required.

  • Quarterly purging of calorifiers and other hot water storage vessels through drain valves.

4. Plumbing services

  • For remedial works required to minimise risks identified during inspections.

  • Safety adjustments - e.g. hot water storage temperature control, certificated servicing and adjustments to thermostatic mixer valves to minimise scald risks to the public, staff or residents.

  • Other plumbing work as requested by clients.
